Dr. Hassan is an experienced psychiatrist and a recognized leader in the field, specializing in forensic and general psychiatry. Having worked at Providence Care, Kingston, and in the UK, he is also a distinguished faculty member at Queen's University. He has made significant contributions to psychiatric education, research, and clinical services.

Dr. Hassan is not new to developing innovative services. He is the founder of the Queen’s accredited Certification Course in Forensic Mental Health in Pakistan and the RCPSC OSCE preparatory course, "The Kingston Course." His work has earned multiple awards, including the 2020 Faculty Exemplary Service Award and the BJPsych International’s Most Downloaded Paper Prize. He is also recognized for his groundbreaking research on mental health and terrorism.

Dr. Hassan’s dedication to improving mental health care extends to his role as an editorial board member of the British Journal of Psychiatry International, where he actively contributes to advancing psychiatric research and practice.
